Hevanet Web Mail

In order to give our customers more options with email, Hevanet has installed and set up a Web-based email interface. Now you can check your Hevanet email from any browser anywhere in the world. All you need is a connection to the Internet. A friend's computer, an Internet Cafe or the Public Library are all possibilities. You can delete messages you don't want (great for getting rid of spam or large file attachments!), reply to current messages or even compose and send entirely new messages.

This easy to use program offers our customers an easy way to keep up with their email, no matter where they are. Here are a few tips to help you get started. Please read the following. There are important limitations to the WebMail program.

  1. WebMail is primarily designed for checking your email from remote locations. It is not meant to replace your normal email program. If you need help configuring your email program, see our help page.
  2. Clicking on the  icon will delete that message immediately. There is no way to retrieve a deleted message. Please be careful.
  3. IMPORTANT! - When deleting multiple messages, always wait for the message list to refresh before clicking "Delete" again. If you don't, you may delete messages you did not intend to. There is no way to retrieve a message once deleted.
  4. If you are trying this out on your main computer, be sure any other email programs (Outlook Express, Eudora, etc.) are closed. It's not a good idea to have two programs accessing your mailbox at the same time.
  5. To access your email account, you will need your Hevanet username (or login name) and your password.
  6. If you are using a browser in a public place, (library, Internet Cafe), be sure to check the option "Don't cache output" and Logout when finished. Otherwise, someone else could have access to your email.
  7. Be patient. Since the program has to do a lot of things to display your email messages, it sometimes takes a few moments for the display.
  8. Unlike other Web-based email services (HotMail, Yahoo), this program does not have extras such as Folders and Address Books. You will not be able to save copies of mail you send (unless you CC to yourself). WebMail is designed as a quick and flexible way to access your Hevanet email from varying locations.
  9. If you wish to have a copy of e-mails you send via WebMail, put your own address in the CC: field.
  10. You may get a "Server Error" if you try to display a message that has a large file attachment (over 2 MB). There is no harm to your Email and nothing will be lost. Because of the size of the message, the program cannot display it. You can still delete the message if you wish.
